About Me
Peter Ibruegger is a London-based, German and Hong Kong Chinese artist and yogi. His multifaceted creative practice encompasses a myriad of expressions, ranging from spontaneous drawings and watercolours to thought-provoking paintings and sculptures, as well as meticulously crafted handmade quilts. His art is shaped by his hybrid identity as a queer biracial man and inspired by themes of Eastern spirituality, philosophy, space, and eroticism.
Not limited to traditional mediums, Peter's artistry also extends to the realm of ceramic design, homeware and furniture. His custom pieces and fine bone china products are a testament to his fascination with the Ouroboros, the ancient symbol of eternity, and serve as a reflection of his deep-rooted connection to consciousness, possibilities and time. Produced with utmost precision in the historic city of Stoke-on-Trent, his ceramic design work is a testament to Peter's commitment to marrying tradition with innovation.
Peter’s practice is also deeply intertwined with his meditation and yogic practices. These twin pillars of inspiration fuel his creative journey, allowing him to transcend the boundaries of ordinary expression. Under the guise of his pseudonym, 8th Sister Yoga, Peter generously shares his knowledge and experience by teaching diverse and inclusive classes and workshops. It's through these teachings that he enriches the lives of others, empowering them to find their own creative and spiritual paths.
